I had a very bad experience with Ajitco Electric and would not recommend them. The owner, Kamal (who goes by “Bella”), came out to replace two breakers and attempted to charge me $925 total. What shocked me was that $500 of this charge was for two hours of “travel time”—time he spent driving from Newark to Oakland to pick up a breaker, without my permission or prior approval. He only told me that he “needed to get the breaker” because he did not have it in stock in his truck. I reasonably assumed he would get it from a nearby Home Depot (about 5 minutes away). Instead, he made the unilateral decision to drive all the way to Oakland. During those two hours, I tried multiple times to contact him to understand what was happening, but he never returned my calls. Charging $250 per hour just to drive and pick up a part—without customer consent—is unacceptable. No customer should be surprised with a bill like this. If the part had been in San Francisco with traffic, would I be expected to pay even more? There are clearly more transparent and reasonable ways to handle parts procurement. This experience felt deceptive and unprofessional. I consider this a scam-like practice and strongly advise others to stay away from this company.
They installed an EV charging station for me. It was a large project due to the location of the unit and the extensive wiring changes that were needed but they were able to complete it in a single day, and I was very impressed with the quality of their work.
Kamaljit is amazing. We are starting a new store and the previous tenant in our space had cut the lighting mounted into the fixtures. The overhead lamps were useless. We called Ajitco yesterday and they finished the job, TODAY! Thirty overhead lamps plus plenty more electrical work behind the scenes fixing outlets and getting everything in our store up to snuff. Very professional, hard working and honest. Look, if you need the very best quality work done quickly and from a guy who won't nickel and dime you, Ajitco is the only way to go.
Kamal responded quickly and came the same day we called. He did a great job installing our new lights and relocating an old one. He was patient enough to help assemble our new lights! He’s also easy to talk to and chat with. Would definitely recommend and call him again!
Mr. Kamaljit installed fans, EV chargers, recessed lights and a chandelier for us. He was quick to come over for an inspection, gave a detailed estimate and started working within a couple of weeks. He finished his work quickly within the time he predicted and left the place spotless. The quality of work was at par with the best in the business. Will definitely contact him again if we need any electrical work in the house.
