Undisclosed Fees & Blame: I fully expect to pay standard diagnostic fees, but reputable professionals state them upfront. He never disclosed his minimum rate on the phone, waiting until he was walking out the door to demand $150. When I texted him later that springing surprise fees is poor practice, his defensive reply was that I "should have asked" and that his hidden fee is usually $250. 2. Zero Situational Awareness: I let him park his motorcycle in my garage to avoid community parking registration. When leaving, instead of rolling it outside, he fired up the loud exhaust inside the enclosed garage without warning, severely startling my one-year-old child. His texted excuse? Because I politely complimented his bike earlier, he found it "strange" I would complain about the deafening noise. 3. Condescending Attitude: After I promptly paid his full invoice via Venmo, his text replies to my feedback were insulting. He implied it was my "first time working with a contractor" and used bizarre scare tactics, claiming an HVAC company would charge $800 to flip the same breaker. I gladly pay for expertise, but I will not be ambushed by unstated fees and insulted. Get every price in writing before letting him in your home. Just wanted to give a huge shout-out to Mr. Khan at Khan Electrical Services LLC. I recently had him out to my house for an EV charger installation and some tricky electrical troubleshooting. I was honestly surprised by his professionalism, he doesn’t look like your typical electrician. He showed up well dressed, very handsome, and extremely professional. He shared that he is actually an Electrical Engineer by profession, and it really shows in his work. He was even comfortable working with live wires to diagnose issues that other people couldn’t find. It’s so rare to find someone in the trades who is this honest, highly educated, and genuinely passionate about taking his company to the next level.
