Max Electric provided great service for our office. The installer arrived on time and worked with impressive attention to detail. We needed electrical wiring and outlet installation running from the panel to a new location for a dryer, and it was done right and fully up to code. What stood out most was the installer's depth of knowledge and expertise. He clearly knew his craft inside and out, and it showed in the quality of the work. On top of that, he was genuinely professional and friendly throughout, taking the time to explain things and making the whole process easy and pleasant. Highly recommend.

Max Electric did an excellent job on a major residential project for us. This involved replacing knob and tube wiring, relocating switches and outlets, adding new outlets and remote switches, adding motion detector switches and fixtures, adding new indoor and outdoor light fixtures, adding more circuits and a new subpanel, and upgrading our ground wire setup, Of the companies we received bids from, Max was the only one that itemized the charges, down to the number of new switches and circuits. While we added more circuits, switches, and outlets after the initial estimate, we had a high level of confidence knowing what the additional work would cost. The Max electricians were all polite and professional, and we worked with several of them. In particular, the project manager, Raushan, was excellent. He was present and easily reachable throughout the job, brainstormed with the electricians on the best and least invasive approaches to take on tricky parts of the job, and offered recommendations to us on fixtures to consider, locations of new lighting, and more. When we had any issues or needed adjustments, an electrician was on site to address them all the next day. The fact that Max is in San Francisco while our job was in the East Bay was never an issue. Both the rough and final city inspections were completed with only minor changes required. These were addressed quickly by the electricians on the same day or next day. The job was completed timely, with electricians on site every day through completion. There were no gaps or periods when the crew would disappear for other jobs. This was especially important since we were living elsewhere while the work was underway. They kept the refrigerator running for us, although the power was cut by accident for a period, and the food spoiled. Raushan apologized and asked us for an estimate of the value of the lost food, and gave us a credit no questions asked. I will caution that a job like this is very noisy and messy, with fine dust everywhere. You will want to move out while the work is underway. We have an old, well framed home of 1400 sq ft with plaster walls that required 60 holes to be drilled to run the new wires. You will need to hire and pay a separate contractor to patch and prime after the electricians have completed the rough part of the job. If you have insulation in areas where Max needs access, you will need to pay another contractor to remove and reinstall it, before and after the electrical work. We also paid for a deep cleaning of the home after the work. All of this adds up, so be sure to budget extra. In our case this work cost an additional 25% above the electrical work. In addition, consider the cost of rent for living away from the home during the work. We lived elsewhere for 5–6 weeks in our case. I will note that this additional time and cost would have been required regardless of the electrical contractor. All in all I have no hesitation in recommending Max Electric. If we later decide to do more work, for example, upgrading the electrical capacity of the home, we would hire Max without requesting bids from other contractors.
