I’d give this service a 4.5 stars, because most of the work was great with the exception of a few issues that got resolved quickly. I had three bidets installed in three bathrooms that have floating toilets and no available plumbing or electric for them, so this required a bit of demo work of tile & drywall to route the electric and plumbing. The master bathroom was by far the more difficult of the three given the demo and repair work. Most of my interactions were with Jake for the plumbing and demo work, but there were others involved for the electrical and finishing work. I liked working with Jake because I appreciate honesty and transparency. There were plenty of opportunities where other contractors would have swept issues under the rug or shifted blame, but for the small leak in the connectors for example, they brought it up, he told me about it and fixed it. The project took a week longer than expected, but there was a lot of tile and finish work that needed to be done. When it was finished, Jake and I did a final inspection, and we noticed some poor workmanship with the tile. He took this issue seriously and acted with urgency, reporting it back to Handyman Heros. The same week, someone new came and fixed the work in a half day. Overall, I’m pleased with the outcome of the project, and I appreciate the level of professionalism and workmanship Handyman Heros provided. I’d trust them to take on any of my future house projects.
Evelio showed up promptly and did skilled, efficient work. He was a clear communicator and just a nice guy to have around for a couple of days. He masterfully solved a few problems that were unique to our house as he installed a new pantry for us. 10/10 would hire again!
I recently hired Handyman Heroes (HH) for the first time to install spring balances on some single-hung windows with inside-mounted plantation shutters. I had expected that the shutter frames would need to be removed and re-installed because the shutter frame of each window prevented removal of the sash. To my surprise, Larry of HH was very familiar with this problem and magically figured out a way to replace the spring balances without removing the shutter frames. I was so happy! I can't say enough good things about HH. During my initial inquiry, HH was able to identity Larry''s expertise and to set up an appointment. HH then sent me an email to confirm the appointment. One hour before Larry's arrival, I received a text from HH indicating that Larry would arrive at the scheduled time. And he did! Larry finished the job within one hour, and I was able to pay HH by check or by credit card immediately. The next day I received an email from HH that included an invoice describing the work completed and my payment. Evidently, all of these steps are "standard procedure" for jobs completed by HH. I've lived in Marin County for almost 3 years, and this is the first home-repair company that has provided end-to-end, competent and professional service. Thank you HH!! Three weeks after my first experience with HH, I hired them to replace the spring balances in 6 more windows. This time Larry also trained another employee, Maynor, to do this job because it requires specialized knowledge and experience. Larry and Maynor did excellent work. I can't say enough about HH's great service, and I will surely hire HH for future home repairs.
I’ve used Handyman Heroes numerous times over the past 10 years. They have an excellent team of highly qualified handymen, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters. Every Hero has been super professional and knowledgeable. I very much appreciate Jake, one of the plumbers- he’s fixed several issues in my bathroom, including replacing shower faucet handles and repairing toilet. He explains the issues thoroughly, lays out my options clearly, helps me order parts, and is always patient and thoughtful.
Our project was a difficult replacement of non-standard doors, requiring resizing of repurposed Victorian doors. Ismael did a great job with the door installations and door resizing! Besides his expertise he and the office were very accommodating and bid was as expected. Good value for service. We will definitely use them again.
