Oakland handyman is great! Levi has done a few projects for me now and he's always been thorough, communicative, transparent, and nice to be around (as a single woman it's important to me to feel safe and comfortable around someone who's doing work in my home). In the “services I go” section I included “mounted tv” but it was actually a super heavy mirror that I was afraid to try and do alone. It was passed down through my family so I really don’t want o to break it. He did a great job installing it. I picked that service because it was the closest thing to it and the same process. Anyway, I've passed his info along to my friends and landlady and they've said the same thing. Here are some photos of an arbor he did for us recently. It isn't painted yet but it already looks so good! 10/10!
I had a great experience with Levi! I needed a quick turnaround on some repairs for my tenants. Levi was able to work within my timeline, including coming back on an additional day for a water shutoff, and he didn't gouge me for parts or his time. It was very affordable way to tackle a smattering of needs (bathtub water valve needed adjusting, bathroom towel rack needed to be reattached, and halogen kitchen bulb needed to be replaced). I will absolutely work with Oakland Handyman again when my tenants need repairs.
Oakland Handyman replaced a worn out wheelchair ramp for us. The ramp looks and works great. They did the job quickly. And they were very pleasant to work with. I would definitely hire them again!
Oakland Handyman deserves every star in the universe. Look no further for knowledgeable craftsmanship, premium quality, friendly service, and affordable pricing. The team produces outstanding work. Ben transformed a street-facing air conditioning exhaust into a work of art—he installed the unit and thoughtfully camouflaged the grate with paint, improving our daily quality of life by a thousand fold because our attic is hereby ventilated! Thank you, Oakland Handyman!! - A happy customer :)
I hired Micah to install a clothes dryer vent which was damaged by a careless tenant. It is a simple job but I could not do it myself due to a knee issue and stairs. The job should take about a half hour, which conveniently is less than the stated two-hour minimum. I was in fact billed for three hours. Upon questioning, Micah informed me that his person first went to the house to look at the job, then drove from Montclair to Emeryville to buy the few parts needed, then back to Montclair. He billed $85 an hour for the shopping trip, which was not necessary as I had provided an exact and complete list of parts, with dimensions, and as the shopping could have been done at Montclair Hardware rather than going do Home Depot in Emeryville on my tab at $85 per hour. I recommend finding someone else to do your job.
