I am so grateful that I was referred to Stephen Bass Home Repair & Renovation. We discovered extensive dry rot in our primary bathroom after noticing our floors had become bouncy and there was damage in a closet we had no idea how significant the damage would be. After meeting with several contractors, Stephen stood out immediately. He was honest, practical, knowledgeable, and gave us confidence from our very first meeting. What could have been an incredibly stressful experience became manageable because of Stephen and his outstanding team. Ricardo and Johnny were true professionals who took tremendous pride in their work. They kept us informed every step of the way, answered our questions promptly, and treated our home with the same care they would their own. It was clear they genuinely cared about doing the job right rather than just finishing a job. The quality of the workmanship exceeded our expectations. Stephen coordinated every aspect of the project seamlessly, and every tradesperson who worked in our home was courteous, skilled, and took pride in their craft. Ricardo and Johnny were there from the initial demolition through the final installation, making sure every detail met Stephen’s high standards. Elmer helped us select beautiful flooring and did an exceptional installation, the painting team gave the bathroom a fresh new look, and the beautiful tile work, quartz shower surround, and vanity countertop transformed our primary bathroom into a bright, elegant space. Throughout the project, the work areas were kept clean, debris was removed promptly, and communication was excellent. We always knew what was happening and what to expect next. What started as an unexpected repair turned into a renovation that truly improved our home. We now have two beautiful bathrooms that we absolutely love. Finding a contractor you can trust is not easy, but Stephen Bass Home Repair & Renovation exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're looking for honesty, exceptional craftsmanship, clear communication, and a team that genuinely cares about their work, I recommend Stephen without hesitation. In fact, I've already recommended him to friends and neighbors, and I'll continue to do so.
Stephen Bass Home Repair & Remodeling did a great job handling dry rot repair at our home and garage in Campbell. Stephen came out to the house personally to do the initial estimate and quickly got a crew on site, including Ricardo. The entire team was professional, efficient, and finished the work right on time—if not a bit ahead of schedule. They kept the worksite clean throughout the project, and there were no surprises on the final bill or scope of work. I would gladly recommend Stephen and his team to anyone in the area looking for reliable home repairs.
We worked with Stephen Bass on two window replacements in May 2026 and would wholeheartedly recommend them for any home improvement project. Their team was responsive and communicative. The work was completed quickly and expertly. Stephen was really personable and honest, and very knowledgeable. While he was looking at a repair on our shed roof, he and his colleague noticed some issues on our house roof. He was really understanding when we told him we weren't quite ready to that work now, but we'll totally be in touch again in a few weeks to have that work completed. We are so happy to have a local, trustworthy, and reasonable resource for home repair and small construction projects!
The trim on our garage door was sagging. I asked a few people about it, and they recommended some $4,000+ fixes. Stephen assured me there were no structural problems and advised me to do nothing. When I offered to pay him to fix the cosmetic problem, he gave me some simple tips on fixing it myself (which I will enjoy doing). He seems like an honest contractor, and I will reach out to him for future needs.
Have had multiple projects done with Stephen and always had great results. I have an older home that needs tlc. The guys on his team Cado and Johnny are really good about being really precise with their work while taking care of the classic parts of the house. Stephen and the whole team really know how to take care of historic homes.
