Service Champions were very professional and got the job done in a timely manner. They had detected 2 leaks under my mom's home under the crawl space and immediately addressed the issue by having a specialist come to her home the next day. The house was built in 1958 and had the original cast iron pipes that were rusted and needed replacing before they could burst causing more damage. The technicians that performed the piping replacement were Patrick and Isaac. Extremely professional and friendly. Sean Hoffman was the evaluator of the project. Everyone involved in this was great and provided detailed explanations and expectation of the cost. They took great care of my mom and her home, not to track any dirt on their shoes or overalls from the crawl space. My mom has used Service Champion for years. We highly recommend this company. Great same day service appointment! No complaints there and technician was professional and knowledgeable. The parts were available and repair was completed at time of appointment. Very happy the unit was repaired and up and running. Only letdown down for me was finding out the capacitor that was replaced was only $50. I understand very well contractor rates and service calls. However, initial quote was $675 to replace the capacitor (took 10 minutes to replace). We settled for $475 if I signed up for a monthly service agreement. I did with full trust that I was taken cared of. After I paid, I was disappointed to find out it was a $50 part and took lees than 15 minutes to install. I wish I asked for the breakdown but I was very trusting and felt that they were an upstanding company. Oh well lesson learned.
Pros: prompt service, easy to make an appointment, technicians always polite and professional and you get a thorough inspection report complete with photos. It's never the same person, but they all are courteous. For a while, they always offered to help with any small household tasks (changing light bulb, etc.). Not sure they still do that, but it was sweet. Cons: We've been on the MVP plan for years now, but I'm thinking it might be more cost-effective just to pay for each service. We've had just one "dicey" experience, when we were told a few years ago we should replace our water heater. A specialist (?) came out and gave us a hard-sell for a specific system. Among other things, we were presented with a brochure describing how this water filtration system would prevent mineral buildup and how we were vulnerable to such buildup. My partner is a scientist and thought the information in the brochure was highly suspect. Furthermore, the estimated price for the job was quite shockingly high. Another place offered to do the same job for a fraction of the cost, and in fact when their rep came to the house, he thought the water heater was fine and did not need replacing. I'm not saying he was right and SC was wrong--just that we felt pressured and possibly pushed toward an unnecessary expense. To be fair, when we had our next inspection, I told the guy about our experience, and he apologized and said it shouldn't have happened.
Dont ever do reviews but i wanted to recognize Bob Mikaili our Sales Technician and Joey Kemp who installed the water heater. Bob gave us the rundown on what needed to be fixed and never felt pressured on having to get the job done. He in fact helped us with getting a better quote which was a huge help and relief. Joey who did the install was very friendly and also gave us the rundown on the job being done. He made sure what he was doing was ok with us. He made the all the piping was clean and tight which we really appreciated no extra pipes that loop atound for no reason. Very professional. These 2 made a hard and financial burden a breeze. I would recommend them!!
Victor was super sweet, very efficient and explained everything to me. And I had mentioned it was my birthday this weekend and after he left he returned ¹¹with flowers and balloons!! So sweet!!!
