I have been using Cabrillo for annual water heater maintenance and during a furnace repair ahead of things cooling off explored options for converting to a heat pump. The team recently wrapped up installation of a heat pump at our house in San Francisco. I had a great experience from bidding through scheduling, system install, and hand-off. Erick and Javier completed the install over a week of work. They were great to work with and identified a better option for routing the line set through the crawl space. Their work was exceptionally professional and left the work area clean and tidy every evening. Extremely happy with the setup: Mitsubishi heat pump, Airzone dual zone control (upstairs/downstairs), Trane clean effects air purifier.
Cabrillo has been in business for over 60 years, and they are known for their quality work, but usually cost more than other gas furnace installers. I finally ended up choosing them despite a good quote from Atlas (my previous installer). I was impressed that the technician explained how the merits of the simpler furnace with a lower BTU rating would be best for my 4-vent system. I liked that he did not try to upsell me and took the time to come into the house and really evaluate the situation. I should mention that they charge $99 for the inspection but I think that is worth the cost even if you ultimately chose another company. If you do choose Cabrillo, it is used as a credit toward their installation.
Cabrillo recently completed a complete replacement of the HVAC system in our house including a new rooftop heat pump and a new air-handler and ductwork inside the house. It was a big job and we are extremely happy to have selected Cabrillo for this project. From the initial meeting with Frank, to the detailed estimating, to the actual removal and installation done by Erick and Javier, to the scheduling and billing interactions with Gessa, we had a great experience. These guys went out of their way to make sure that we were happy with every detail. They were on time, professional, and friendly. We are happy to very highly recommend the Cabrillo team!
We talked to several AC companies but none had the expertise and professionalism of Cabrillo. They were fair, honest, on time, and did incredible work. I would work with Frank, Robert, and Javier again. Special thanks to Frank for answering many questions before we agreed to the proposal and for being really great to work with. The whole team is excellent.
Randy from Cabrillo Plumbing came out and quickly diagnosed a clog in our garage sink. He immediately identified the problem and made some excellent recommendations. Within just two hours, Randy and his partner had installed a beautiful new sink and trap, removed a bunch of old galvanized pipe, and completely transformed the setup. We couldn’t be happier with the results. I can’t say enough good things about Cabrillo Plumbing and Randy’s work — absolutely top notch. In my opinion, this is some of the best plumbing service you can get in the Bay Area. Remember: you truly do get what you pay for.
