The staff was kind and helpful. The place is modest but they seem to get the job done. 4 of 5 stars due to the long wait.

I had a very disappointing experience at Fremont Social Services. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. Instead of providing clear answers, they gave me wrong information and avoided answering my questions. The security guards were also very disrespectful, which made the entire visit stressful and unpleasant. A place that is supposed to help the community should treat people with kindness and respect, but unfortunately that was not the case here.

Been receiving benefits for my kids for a few years and every time there’s a recertification I am taken off because I “never turned in my packet” even though I did weeks before…lol. in person and cus I already knew this happen i did it online too. Every year I try to get a hold of my worker it is impossible. Then they give me my workers boss’s number and they too are impossible to get ahold of. Then my only option (which they don’t even tell you this or give you the number, I had to find it on my own)lol is to wait 2 hours on the main county number and that’s only if I’m lucky since they won’t allow you to call if there’s too many on hold. On my workers voicemail she leaves a number to call for “emergencies” and it’s a non working number. lol. Just insane how little these people care about doing their job. It’s almost like they think people who need help are a joke because why would they have a non working number? The one and single time I was called by my worker I was spoken to like she hated me. Lol honestly was never spoken like that by anyone in my life. I would ask a basic simple question and she acted like I was an idiot and couldn’t give me an answer. It was almost like she was looking to argue or to be rude. lol honestly it was very weird cus how is someone who’s employed to help people allowed to treat someone like that? I am convinced they make it this difficult so people give up. Like that has to be it cause why is everything here so difficult. Anyway. The Fremont office sucks. There’s no workers actually in the place. Only real help you’ll get is if you search through the depths of hell to find the single number and speak to a person who can actually do something. Which can be 50/50 with who you talk to cus they are allowed to take their bad feelings out on people. Haha fremont has just become a terrible place to live

I had a very easy experience at the office. I did have to wait for service. But it was efficient. They understood my circumstances and gave me all the information I needed. I didn't originally request medical. I got forced into it by the new Healthcare market and a drop in my income.

Thank you and I appreciate the Alameda County Social Services nice and friendly services and supports. The EBT is very good Gov benefits and convenient to use it in daily life. I would definitely highly recommend and would give a five stars rating for local county social services.
