I called the company to request help with a link under my sink. The owner called me back immediately and said he can have someone here shortly. Great, I thought. The plumber arrived, looked at it, found a loose screw and tightened it. I asked about pricing, he said he isn't allowed to discuss pricing or take money, the company will contact me. At no point was I informed about pricing. A few days later I got a bill by mail for $245 described as "minimum charge". This didn't seem reasonable to me, as at no point when scheduling the appointment or during the visit was I told about any minimum fee or charge. I contacted the company multiple times via email and phone over the following two months. I was told the owner will call back, but no-one ever did, and all follow-ups were ignored. A few days ago I received a letter saying my bill is overdue. I live in a large building, I posted in our building group, and others shared they had the same experience with this company. In CA, mandatory fees are required to be disclosed before service (SB 478, effective July 2024). I believe the practices of this company are not legal and not ethical. I am posting this to warn other customers. I recommend avoiding this company as I wouldn't want to deal with someone not ethical and difficult to deal with. If you must, make sure you ask about pricing upfront.

For over 2 years Leo Gotelli, owner, did not fix back ups from an upstairs unit. Leo Gotelli no showed 5 times creating massive floodings and disrepair and unit abatements by 2 city inspectors. When confronted on his numerous no shows he lies and invents another appointment date that was said which did not exist. His main client, being Gramercy towers, he makes sure he never finishes the full job, creating water shut offs to more than 300 residents biweekly. It is clear that there is some kind of corruption to use Leo Gotelli at the Gramercy. Entire floors were flooded at the Gramercy by Leo Gotelli unfinished work by his design. Check out contractors' reviews on Leo Gotelli. Leo Gotelli makes sure he has to come back to collect more payments by never finishing the job. Then Leo Gotelli can no show at his whim, with no call, no nothing except his lies.
After having used Gotelli Plumbing for many years for all of our plumbing requirements, when the hot water heater which they installed several years ago began to leak, they refused to return my calls or respond to messages requesting that they come to look at the unit and determine what the problem is. My water bill increased by 50%, the water department suggested there must be a leak, and they refuse to even look for it. So I would definitely not recommend Gotelli to anyone.
This company is GREAT! I cannot say enough good things about them. Twice I’ve called them during plumbing emergencies and they’ve been super responsive with great prices. Once I had a flood from my hot water heater, they showed up and replaced it that day. This last time I had an awful smell that we thought might be a plumbing problem. Called them at 4pm, they showed up the next morning, determined the issue, and fixed it! That’s what I call VALUE and totally trustworthy.
