When the plumbing in my century-old house gave up its ghost, I was faced with the prospect of some urgent and expensive upgrades. Like many inexperienced senior homeowners, the process of choosing a plumber was riddled with anxiety. The media is rife with stories of scamming contractors and unreliable workmen. From the very start, Nexgen’s Juan Gutierrez was patient with my many questions and requests; he was detailed and unfailingly polite. He did a thorough initial inspection and came back again when we had more questions. My instinct was to hire him but another plumbing company had offered a lower bid which I felt obliged to investigate. Soon it was apparent that there was no contest between Nextgen and the rival bidder. Choosing Nextgen put my mind at ease. Before the project could start, there was a backup in my backyard. Juan sent his crew to fix it--for free. When he found out that my husband was sick, he gave me a sizable discount on the bid. Once the project was underway, the speed, attention to detail and professionalism shown by Juan and his crew were incredible. I think even the city inspector and EBMUD inspector were impressed by their work. I won’t ever have to look for another plumbing company!

When my drain totally backed up, I called Juan, who had been recommended by a neighbor. I called Monday morning, left a message, and Juan showed up Monday afternoon and did 2+ hours of rooter and camera work before he concluded that my lateral line had collapsed and needed replacement. No big surprise since it was 75 years old. Juan and his crew were polite, friendly, and highly efficient. Even though they are more fluent in Spanish than English, we managed to communicate and Juan is truly bilingual and a first rate person. Amazing to see them slide the new line in place under my garden! They thoroughly cleaned and picked up after themselves, spraying down pavement and driveway so it was cleaner than before. They were extremely professional, honest, and easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. And price was fair, too. I also asked him at the end to help with a toilet issue, and he even went out to get the replacement part for me. On top of that, he didn’t charge extra for the additional help. I’m very grateful for his help and will definitely contact him again for any future plumbing needs. Highly recommend!
I called Nexgen Rooter and Plumbing because of a bursted water main.I talk to Juan and described my problem, and he was there within an hour. He gave me a professional quote and describe everything he was going to do,and said he would be finished that day. They replace the water main from the meter all the way to the inside the garage and finish within a few hours.Iwas very impressed,and I recommend them to anybody that needs a professional plumber.Job well done 👍.
