I'm so grateful to Joe at Total Underground Construction -- TIC is the very best in the East Bay! They're truly exceptional. Their experts are the best. I particularly appreciate Ivan who has helped work on plumbing upgrades at my residence many times/on a couple mini-projects -- he's a master. He's really the best and is amazing at what he does. He's a really sweet person who takes so much pride in his work and doing the best possible job. For example, he caught something that 90% of other plumbers wouldn't have caught because he was reviewing pictures of the finished piping and noticed something was off (on his own time, after work!!). He came back for a follow-up visit right away. He does a really meticulous and careful job with complex plumbing, and he just wants to do the best job. He truly cares about the quality of his work and it is the way I am too, so I appreciate how he works very much. Joe, the owner, is such a kind and wonderful person. He was very generous with his expertise/advice/time, and even shared an amazing referral to another contractor (like he connected me to an amazing Fire Sprinkler expert). This is definitely a family business you want to support!! Joe is always super fast to respond and they really try to get out to you as early as they can. I like investing in good plumbing upgrades/preventative maintenance and these guys really know their stuff. Ivan is truly amazing. I look forward to having Joe, Ivan and Angel back to work on further projects in the years to come. I'm never going to any other plumber except for TIC!!! Joe was up front about cost, schedule, and was careful make sure that the job was truly necessary. His crew was thorough, prompt, and great to interact with. They rolled with some unexpected hiccups on our end. Highly recommended.

We had a clogged main sewer line that needed replacing and our neighbor recommended Joe and Orlando. They immediately came out to assess the situation and proposed a cost effective solution. Right away, they came off as two guys who really enjoyed their work. After accepting the project, they took the extra steps to drive out that night to get the sewer line in a passable condition for the few days until the start of the project so we would not be without water and this was all done free of charge with the project. For comparison, other plumbers I've worked with have charged me even for using the camera to look at the line. During the project, they had 4 guys working and were able to complete the sewer line replacement in a single day. On top of all this, their price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommend them and would definitely call on them for future plumbing needs. Update Aug 2026: We recently had a clog in one of the toilets. Without hesitation, Joe came early next morning and took care of it with such great attitude as we remembered him 3 years ago. We are so grateful to have found Joe and TUC, and more importantly, be able to count on them for any small or big plumbing issues. Thank you!!

Sooo liiike... I don't know a damn thing about plumbing. Couldn't tell you how to shut off the water if my life depended on it. All I know is that a person like me who has absolutely no clue about any of that is probably an ideal customer for a greedy tradesmen. However, that was not the case with Total UG. Matter of fact, I called them and explained the problem with my boyfriend's sink. I was expecting a quote, but Joe actually told me exactly what we could do to fix it ourselves with just a cheap tool we could find on Amazon. I was so surprised he did that and yes, it worked like a charm! A few months later when my boyfriend had a water leakage issue in a different bathroom, Joe and his team were a no-brainer! We're in the midst of that right now and it's been smooth sailing. I know we're in good hands... or should I say good pipes? (pause) LOL thanks again Total UG!
