I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Alliance Contracting SVC, owned by Omar Garrido. This company, which has been in the market for 26 years, recently undertook demolition/repair roof work at Presidio Middle School. During this project, dust and oily roofing residue from the demolition settled on approximately 30-50 cars parked around the school. Many of the affected cars belong to teachers, custodians, neighbors, and hardworking people from the school. They do not deserve to be treated like this by a company that has been in the market for 26 years and still does not know basic responsibilities. Alliance Contracting SVC has not only acted irresponsibly but also illegally, attempting to hide their actions and dismissing our concerns as if it is our problem. The residue, comprising oily grease and debris, caused significant damage to these vehicles. Regular car washes have proven ineffective in removing this substance, and it is likely to permanently mark the car paint. Furthermore, the company did not have a street permit for their work, nor did they provide any notice to car owners at the time or before they started the demolition. This lack of communication and proper permitting further exacerbates the issue. Initially, I spoke with the project manager about the problem. He did not apologize and instead directed me to speak with his boss. When I contacted Omar Garrido, he was also rude and did not apologize for the damage they caused. He refused to provide the company's construction license and insurance information, preventing me from filing a claim. Additionally, he denied any responsibility for covering the expenses required for deep polishing and cleaning the car paint to rectify the damage. Furthermore, the company did not have public works permits for their work, nor did they provide any notice to car owners and neighbors 72 hours in advance. They also failed to cover the cars in the work area and around the school, leading to this extensive damage. This neglectful and unprofessional response is unacceptable. I urge you to take immediate action to address this complaint and ensure that Alliance Contracting SVC takes responsibility for the damage caused by their work.
