Avoid CFY Roofing Construction – Dishonest and Predatory Practices I had a terrible experience with CFY Roofing. They are not an honest company. They originally gave me a quote for $12,450 to get the job. However, once they ripped my roof open, they completely changed the price. They told me the total would be $13,500, but when they sent the contract, they sneaked in an additional $13,500, bringing the total to $23,500 for a very small house! When I said I couldn't afford that, they pressured me and said if I didn't pay, I could find another company. My roof was completely exposed, and it was raining that week. They refused to return my deposit, leaving me with no choice but to negotiate while trapped. They constantly changed their numbers, dropping from $23,500 down to $20k, $19k, $17k, and finally $15,250. To make things worse, when the final contract came, they failed to properly deduct the $5,500 progress payment I had already made, only showing the initial $1,000 deposit. Their workmanship was just as shady. When the job was "finished," the first City building inspector came out and officially FAILED the roof. The inspector's report explicitly stated they did a very bad job, noting they had installed brand-new roofing materials and drip rails directly over rotting wood, leaving a major bulge under the shingles. While the city ultimately forced them to tear up the edges to fix the structural rot to barely pass a second inspection, they still refused to replace the rotting exterior fascia trim. They also left the gutters filthy and full of debris even though the contract promised they would be cleaned. They assume homeowners won't go up on a ladder to check. Save yourself the nightmare, the price gouging, and the stress—do not hire this company.
We have a low slope section over our back addition, about 600 square feet, and it had been patched before with different materials that never quite solved the issue. After another leak showed up, We had CFY come out to inspect the area and explained that the older roll roofing had started to separate at the seams. He recommended removing that entire section and installing a modern membrane system with proper edge metal and new flashing at the transitions. The crew tore off the old layers, checked the decking, and rebuilt the area with clean lines and tight seals. They paid close attention to drainage so water would move off the surface instead of sitting.Highly recommend CFY!
We replaced an aging three tab shingle roof with architectural shingles across the entire house. Jorge supervised the installation and made sure the crew kept things moving despite a few extremely hot days. What I appreciated most was that they didn’t rush through the difficult areas around the valleys and vents. The finished roof gives the house a much more updated look and should last significantly longer than what we had before.
Working with CFY was a breath of fresh air. There was zero sales pressure; just clear communication and expert execution. From Natalie’s organized scheduling to Luis’s detailed explanation of the repair process, everything was handled with care. The final result blends perfectly with our original roof and has already proven its durability against heavy rain. A truly seamless experience from start to finish.
I started worrying about the condition of my roof and decided it was time for a professional look. Claudia scheduled the inspection quickly and made sure I knew what to expect. Omar did a thorough check and found that some of the older materials had started to break down near a seam, which was allowing moisture in. He explained why that section tends to fail over time and what they would do differently during the repair. The crew came out on the scheduled day, removed the worn materials, replaced the underlayment where needed, and sealed everything carefully. They worked steadily, kept the area tidy, and walked me through the finished repair before leaving. Since then, we’ve had multiple storms and everything has held up the way it should.
