Jim and his team recently replace my roof. I received a few different estimates and decided to go with Cowan roofing based on his knowledge and energy. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the level of service they provided. The team was efficient and clean. The new roof looks amazing. They added metal/valleys, ridge vents, solar attic fans and replaced dry rot where needed. The team also did an extra for me and replaced a couple facia boards that were rotted. I recently had the pleasure of working with Cowan Roofing, and I'm very happy with the results. Jim, the owner, brings an impressive depth of knowledge to his projects. His understanding of roofing assemblies, materials, and building codes are bar none. What really stood out to me was Jim's promptness and professionalism. From the original quote/ bid meeting to the last day on site, he was always on time and communicative. Everything was going great until it wasn't. Came and started the job as promised. Paid half of the agreed upon amount when they were about half way done. Paid the other half as they were finishing up. Unfortunately for me, they made a downspout that did not fit and promised to come back to fix it. At the time of review, well over a month and a half later, they have not come back. A lot of back and forth via texts and promises to come back and fix it but no show each and every time. James is now telling me that this job and the responsibility of completing it is not his and that this was a side job that belonged to his employee and he was simply helping. The issues I have is that this information was news to me and was brought to my attention in our last text exchange. Did not come up when I paid him directly. Twice. Concern now is that the incomplete gutter system will still allow water into my crawlspace and potentially compromise my footings/foundation.
