Silvio and HomeIntelligent contracted to build an ADU for my elderly dad in our backyard, referred by Cottage, who had designed the ADU and procured initial documents.  The expected turnaround was estimated to be about 6 months.  However, our lot had unexpected issues, the major of which was a high water table.   Although we are uphill in Oakland, there are creeks running throughout the area, many undergrounded over the last 80 years or so. This necessitated re-doing the geo-tech surveys, completely redesigning the foundation, and creating new drainage on the plot for the building.  Of course this took more time and money than we'd planned for.  However, Silvio kept up with it all, through delays in shipments, rainstorms, our road being dug up by EBMUD and then later repaved by the city. And the solar company and PG&E seemed confused as to what could be done or had to be done before the other connecting tasks.  But eventually, the work was done, in large part thanks to Silvio's patience, and the perseverance of his teams, who were co-operative and efficient.  Particularly his finishing carpentry team was excellent in seeing an issue, pointing it out, suggesting a solution, and completing it quickly. We are very grateful to Silvio for his persistence and calm demeanor throughout, and my dad is happily living there now, dry, and able to meet his own needs.

Silvio and the Hometelligent team did a commendable job with our whopper of a project. Being novices to the home remodeling world, his guidance each step of the way was invaluable to us. He was quick and responsive to our questions, providing experienced recommendations when asked, and obliging us when we had our own ideas. What was originally supposed to be an add-on and renovation plan ended up needing to be even more complex. As expected, there were some surprises along the way, but Silvio worked with us to help keep costs to a minimum. His entire crew were skillful and efficient (a special shout-out to Sam), patiently accommodating us even as we flip-flopped with some decision-making. As our project progressed, we were told by many passersby about how impressed they were with the quality of their work. When all was said and done, we were elated to see our vision having been brought to life.
