JR Roofing and Gutters

1yr Edit: Our torch down roof has leaked in several spots over the year. After calling Rodolfo for the first leak at a downspout his "repair" was to just cover up the down spout with torch down, sealing it up and rendering it useless. The next repair, at a corner, lasted about a month before leaking again. The roof has since leaked in our kitchen, in our patio, and at nearly every corner joint around the perimeter. I would not recommend J&R Roofing. The mentality of work is poor initial install with continuous repairs. If you want a quality roof from the start, look elsewhere. He also refuses to refund any money. Shady. Our experience with JR Roofing was okay, but I don't know if I would recommend them to friends or neighbors. We replaced our houses roof (low slope, hot tar and gravel) with a torch down roof with downspouts. There overall quality of the installation was okay but there's many details that I wish I would have known about prior to committing to the contract. Communication was mediocre. 1) For some reason Rodolfo did not remember our original quote day. He forgot - and came out the next day when I called and reminded him that we had a quote appointment the day before. 2) The week before our contract start date Rodolfo asked what day he was starting. That was odd, because he has access to the contract he made with the start date on it. 3) Demo was quick, 1 day, - but it made the inside of our garage very messy and it would have been nice to know to cover things. 4) After demo, damaged wood was replaced. On the front of the house they did repaint a section of new fascia to match,. A plank was replaced on our patio and they primered it, but did not match it's paint. 5) The torch down process shot speckles of tar around our house and my wife's car is now covered in tar speckles. She was home and could have easily moved her car if asked too. 6) Additional down spouts were added to the roof, but in one location they covered the cutout with tarpaper. 7) The "wrapover" of the tar paper onto the fascia is ugly. In some locations the tar is dripping out. In some locations is not fully bonded. In some locations the cut is very wavy. See pictures. 8) We need a gutter on the side patio and it was left out. Not sure why. 9) When sealing the tar paper to the outside of the fascia some paint was baked/burnt and rather than sanding it down and re-doing it...they just painted over the bubbles. Quick and ugly. Overall the whole process took 7 days, Tuesday to Tuesday. It felt rushed at the end because we had rain incoming. The rush resulted in some lack of detail that I think Rodolfo knows how to make better. It seems like they know what they're doing - but cut corners when it came to making things look good. They just aren't concerned with how things look. I wish I would have been told what would look ugly and why. To end on a positive note - they added a solar roof ventilator and attic vent which look great. They replaced all of our vent pipes, including our water heater vent pipe which had fallen out (but I had to buy the pipe and vent). They repaired a patio leak very quickly.

Rodolfo from JR Roofing was very responsive and by far gave us the quote with the best value. We have had a flat roof that experienced leaks that needed a replacement, but after a couple of major rainy days there are no issues. The team came by quickly and kept me updated throughout the process. I'm very happy with going with Rodolfo for this work.

Last year, I helped a family member with their re-roofing project. We did extensive research and got five quotes from companies with many good reviews on Yelp's front page. They were all easy to reach through Yelp's portal, and we picked one that stood out. The job was done fairly, but we waited five months for their availability. The price was fair but wasn't a great value. Communication also dropped here and there, as it's a big company with separate front and back offices. The experience was "meh." This year, we had to do our own re-roof. With that past experience, I decided to get some quotes from companies on the second page of Yelp. That's where we found JR Roofing. They gave us a great quote, a quick work schedule, and the flexibility we needed to deal with our HOA. Their communication was clear and thorough. Jose, our point of contact, was willing to answer my many questions. There were times he got busy, but he always gave us a detailed and satisfying response in the end. He took pictures of every stage of the project and a video after the roof was completed, since we were out of town during the work. The job was done just as well as the one our family member had. We got the same material and warranty, yet with a much better price and a much shorter wait. Thank you, Jose. Thank you, JR Roofing.

Rodolfo and his team at JR Roofing and Gutters are amazing. They are professional, capable and super reliable. Rodolfo creates a detail contract outlining the work order and he walked us through what to expect. We also noted potential issues he saw as he began work (ie. more nails needed to the plywood to bring it to code, some rot etc). Rodolfo provided updates that kept us informed about the work being done. Each day the team arrived on time, and cleaned up at the end of the day. I'm so happy with the work and highly recommend JR Roofing and Gutters.

We have had Rodolfo do roof & gutter on 2 homes now and if we need another roof in the future we will call Rodolfo first thing. He is profession, friendly, responsive, does high quality work and does it all in very good amount of time. We appreciate him asking us questions to make sure we get what we want, brining us samples and cleaning up each day. Highly recommend Rodolfo and his crew!
