Kyvos renovated my kitchen with a complete tear down and replace. Niko has been in this business for a long time, so he knows everyone. We wanted to get floors replaced, he had a guy. We wanted to get a custom bench made, he knew a guy. The amount of knowledge and connections he had saved me a lot of time and effort. He was always reachable by phone and text anytime I had questions and concerns. I’m very happy I hired Kyvos to complete my renovation and I recommend him for anyone who wants a general contractor who can handle any request. I’d Niko again for any future work as well.
I’m extremely happy with our home remodeling project. The team was punctual every day, respectful of our home, and very transparent about costs. They worked within our budget without cutting corners, which really shows their honest work ethic. It’s hard to find contractors you can truly trust, and these guys delivered. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and family.
Please be aware that my review keeps getting deleted, therefore I am sure other negative reviews are also getting deleted. I do not recommend Kyvos Construction. We terminated our contract with Kyvos Construction for a home expansion project due to material breach and project abandonment. As of December 2025, this contractor is the subject of an active Contractors State License Board (CSLB) investigation regarding our project. We are currently pursuing a bond claim and legal remedies. Before hiring, verify all records via the CSLB License Check and be aware that not all active complaints are publicly visible, search : See why you can’t see more than 10,000 complaints about California contractors – NBC Bay Area.
KYVOS Construction is very professional and does excellent work! I would definitely choose this company again as the bathroom remodel walk in shower upgrade was within budget and the communication, coordination and responsiveness was very easy to work with.
Nikos, the owner of Kyvos Construction, is indeed a friendly, funny, and knowledgeable person, and I had every intention of writing a five star review for him. Unfortunately, while I’m thrilled with the outcome of my small kitchen remodel, getting there proved to be quite the challenge. First and foremost, I feel there was definitely a lack of oversight, accountability, and communication on his part. I understand that every project comes with a few bumps along the way, however, instead of rectifying the situation, Nikos constantly assigned blame. In a nutshell, the custom cabinets had to be re-measured and rebuilt. Plumbing had to be reconfigured in the 11th hour. No one bothered to measure my appliances and neither the range nor the dishwasher fit the cabinets designed to house them. My quartzite countertops were fabricated without taking into account that my walls are not plumb, leaving large gaps between the edge of the countertop and the wall. And finally, if I had listened to Nikos and ordered the amount of tile he told me I would need, I would have had four extra boxes, almost double what I ended up ordering. Most, if not all, of these mistakes could’ve been avoided with attention to detail, proper communication, and solid direction, which I felt was sorely lacking. Thankfully, the shining star of Nikos’ small team, Tony Hernandez (look him up on Yelp) fixed every single one of everyone else’s mistakes. Not only that, he did an absolutely brilliant job tiling my backsplash (photos are on Yelp under his name, too). In fact, I was so happy with his work, I hired him to do my master bathroom remodel. Check out the photos on Yelp. There are still outstanding issues with the cabinets (paint peeling, misaligned drawers, etc). I have not been able to get in touch with Luis, the cabinet maker, and Nikos’ has not been any help. His response to me was “I don’t know, what can I say right now. We never have any problems, me and Luis, with clients.” And even though Nikos provided me with a one year warranty, I wonder whether he has any intention of honoring it, seeing as he has chosen to block my calls and won’t respond to my texts or emails either. Is this the type of person you want to entrust with your next remodel? /// In response to Nikos' statements below, Yes, he and his crew came back numerous times to address the many mistakes that were made. However, I was forced to contact the Contractor's Board and file a complaint only AFTER Nikos blocked my calls and texts and refused to take care of the cabinet situation. I did this AFTER Luis, his cabinet maker wanted me to pay him an additional $500 to return to repaint and realign my cabinets (that were under warranty). Just recently, after numerous phone calls, texts, and emails asking Nikos to have his fabricator, Poly Mendoza, return to redo the seam that he failed to seal properly, and which as a result has sadly oxidized to an unsightly rust color (definitely noticeable against my pearl gray crystallo quartzite), nothing has happened. See photos. Poly doesn't return my calls either. Pathetic and highly unprofessional way to run a business in my opinion–especially when you claim to be the General Contractor. Again, I would absolutely NOT recommend Kyvos Construction for any project–not even to build a dog house. And, by the way, Nikos, you're the one who is not doing the right thing. No one should have to go through what I've gone through with this simple remodel. And good luck with the lawsuit against you by yet another unsatisfied customer.
